HOW IT WORKS

Many organizations have a paper glossary of terms and phrases, while useful these glossaries are typically a low priority and are often neglected for years. The wiki in Connected Community allows members to take ownership of the glossary where they can view, edit, or request phrases that need definition.

Organization Benefit

The Wiki Glossary is a high functioning tool to keep members informed. Using this collaborative approach, the glossary is constantly updated and not just casually reviewed once every five or 10 years.

  • Add or edit any definition, industry term or acronym.
  • Versioning of definitions and changes, so that updates can be rolled back at any time. Integration of useful information such as ratings, comments and demographic metrics.
  • Add links and URLs within the definition.

Member Benefit

The Wiki Glossary 2.0 model allows members to take ownership of the Glossary by including wiki functionality which allows any member to view or edit any phrase.

  • This tool is a great way to encourage online interaction and participation among a passionate membership.
  • It’s also a great way to educate and inform on a regular basis giving your community a go-to resource for information, terminology and more.
  • If a member cannot find a definition for an industry word, phrase or acronym, they can click on "Request Definition" and submit it for other members to help define.
  • Ability to request a definition.
  • Collaborative process enables users to indicate status of terms, such as "Needs a little help", "Someone please confirm this is accurate" and "Ready".
